Anyone wait to ttc
for financial reasons? Then again... lots of people say if you wait until your financially ready, youll never have a baby. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

yeah...we're probably going to wait until the summer to really start TTC. Right now we're going on the "what happens, happens" mentality..we'll see how it goes. But we have a big move coming in 4 months and I'll be starting a new job next year, so I kinda feel like it's not the greatest time...

We were going to TTC this fall, but life pitched us a major curve ball. I was doing my Masters and my job told me once I was done, I would end up taking a major pay cut. So I opted to take a semester off, go back in the summer and try for next year. We also just bought a new house with a big mortgage, so it's just not in the cards right now.

we are waiting until i know for sure what is going on with me and work.
i want to make sure i have a secure job that will allow me to go part time when i am ready.

Well, we kind of are. We're waiting to get some big projects done on our house that are  We also want to have a certain amount in savings I guess as a "baby start up fund" and b/c I would like to take an extended ML so I wouldn't get paid for probably 2 months. We also want to increase our emergency fund. If we were older I probably wouldn't be waiting but we're only 29. But I think we're only going to wait until the fall. We should have 1 big project out of the way by then.

Our original plan was to wait due to financial reasons. Also, time is on our side as I'm almost 24 and DH is 25. But-we got the baby bug! So we have decided to end BCP in June and start TTC in September.
We figured financially we would never truly be ready and we should bite the bullet and just go for it. What's meant to be will be no matter what we do.

we are waiting to actively start TTC until we are in a house.....so i guess that is financial, but i feel like no matter when it happens we will have to adjust financially

we were gonna, then we weren't, then we were...then I went off the pill cuz I thought it would take 3-6 months to get PG or more because I had surgeries in the past...
I got PG in an apartment with DH out of work...you make it work if you want to...or you can wait. It's personal preference

in fact, right now we are in the process of buying a home and financially we will be whiped out. But, I refuse to wait. I don't believe things will ever be perfectly right for a baby, and I don't want to wait and regret later.

yea, DH and i always said "wait until we are financially stable" but then we realized what you did...if we wait for financial stability, we'll never have a baby! so we decided that when we are mentally ready we will try. and we had a long talk about it last night and we are mentally ready now! but we're gonna wait until after Christmas to start really trying because we have alot of weddings that i'm going to be in next spring and I dont want to be preggo or have alot of baby weight for them.

We did wait until we were finacially and emotionally ready for a child. meaning, that I wouldn't have to go back to work and i would raise our child.
you always want more money, but we made sure we were debt free and had enough money in savings and all accounts for us to live off one salary.
i'm glad we waited, we got our house completed, traveled, did for us unti we had our daughter. Now with #2, again we are financially stable so it's a go in a few months, but if money was tight and we had major projects to complete in the house or else where we would put TTC on hold until we were ready.
