I lost my grandmother to cancer July 1st, 2009. She was a beautiful, vibrant, and phenomenal woman. Fit, energetic, feisty and spirited until the day she died.

I wanted to do something special in memory of her. Losing her has left a large void, as she was one of my closest friends and most avid supporter.

...
On June 11th-12th 2011, I will be embarking on a 2 day walk for breast cancer in Long Island. It is a 35 mile walk out East.

I am very excited about this. I will not only be walking in memory of her, but in support of all the women in my family as well who have battled breast cancer and beat it. I pray that I am never afflicted with this disease, but if I am (and unfortunately, genetically I may be faced with this sometime in my future) I hope that there continue to be ground breaking treatments available so that I get to live the long, fulfilling life I know I have spread out before me.

I am asking all of you to please sponsor me in any way that you can. 5 dollars, 10 dollars, 20 dollars - WHATEVER. All donations are welcome and appreciated in these hard economic times.

To donate, go onto http://li2day.org/, and click on Donate. Type in my name under walker (Liza Geonie) and then it will tell you what to do from there.

Thank you so much for your time everyone! I cannot wait to share this journey with everyone!
