Anyone watch "Say Yes to the Dress" Last night?

I felt so bad for the girl whose mom and cousin kept telling her how overweight she was. First of all she was maybe 8 pounds overweight. Verrry normal looking, and she just didnt look right in the dresses they were choosing it wasnt because she was too fat. They must have said 20 times how much weight she needs to lose. I wanted to b*tch slap her mom.

i saw that - i felt so bad for her - no one should have that happen, especially when you are trying to find your wedding dress

That was just awful!! They were sooooooooooooo mean to her.

And what about the other pride that loved the Pricilla of Boston gown and her mother told her that looked bad and kept making her try on princessy ball gowns. THen after the bride breaks down in tears saying this is exactly what I dont want the mother says "She thinks she doesnt want this but I think she does."

I didn't like the mom with her daughter. the one who didn't want the big wedding.

"i don't know why she's crying." with the stupid smug look on her face the whole time.

Both girls needed support and got none from their families.

I saw the show. It reminded me of my own experience trying on dresses. I actually went ALONE to try on dresses first because I knew how bad it was going to be going with my mom and grandma. It was even worse than I ever thought it could be. I really felt for these girls. My mom called me fat, she was mean to me, the sales lady came to my rescue. I ended up getting the dress I wanted. It was a Monique Luhluier. It had a pick up style a-line bottom and a v-neck cap sleeve lace top with a sash. In the end my mom apologized to me and a year after my wedding my grandma told me that my dress was nice because she finally saw other girls in similar ones. She thought that the pick up skirt style was awful at first.

Re: Anyone watch "Say Yes to the Dress" Last night?

I have to say I was really upset about last nights show. From the beauty queens mother that would NOT listen to her AT ALL and made her feel horrible, to the mother and cousin that should have been b*tch slapped for all the weight comments, to that spoiled rotten blond prissy b*tch that did end up getting the dress that was 2x her budgetChat Icon . I wouold have beat the sh*t our of that cousin and mother and honestly I would have told them to leave. I also would have told "Princess" to buy her own freaking dress then. She never even considered chipping in, but in the same breath I HATE her consultant! I have noticed that that one, skinny older blond lady seems short ALWAYS pulls dresses that re out of budget and the girls fall in love. I can't stand her. Her voice, her look, her attitudeChat Icon I would be so p*ssed if I told her $3000 and she had me try on a dress for $5000. She has done this MANY times and I hate it. Also it was clear that Mom was paying for the dress so why did they not just pull dresses from her price point? I think it was unprofessional that they showed expensive dresses after mom was VERY clear she did not feel comfortable with it!

I think that was pretty much the experience my friend had for her wedding. It took her MONTHS to find a dress they could both agree on & then her grandma cried because it was ivory, not white. Chat Icon

....I feel like they put that bride in dresses that were too tight purposely(to make it better for tv) because in actual practice I doubt they would squeeze the zipper up on that style of dress because the bride would never be able to envision herself in it like that...and yes, I thought her mother and the other family member were very unsupportive and cruel.....she to me looked like a average sized woman so all the "fat" comments were really inappropriate...and dont even get me started on the family member saying she looked "ugly"Chat Icon

I didn't see this episode, but the more I watch this show the more obvious it is to me that so much of it is staged. I guess they would have to in order to create an episode that is tv-worthy.

For instance, that one employee that there's always drama around (can't remember her name)...I don't believe the things she says/does...come on! Why would they have hired her in the first place?Chat Icon

I still love watching it for the dresses though!Chat Icon
