Anyone wear heels more 3 1/2 inches?

Did you just start wearing them high, or was it gradual? I just bought 4 inchers because they were to die for, but I feel very uncomfortable wearing them. I really want to wear them, but I think I might be stuck just admiring them. Chat Icon

ETP - Should I just sell them on ebay?

The higher, the better. Chat Icon (I would say 90% of my shoes/boots have a 3"+ heel.)

I've always worn high heels, so I guess I never really had to adjust.

When you say uncomfortable, do you mean your feet are in pain or do you mean in how you walk in them and the height in general (as in feel awkward)?

If you think you're never going to wear them...sell them.

I have an occasional pair or two that is a little under 4". But after a few hours.........they hurt like H E L L.

Definitely not for an 8 hour work day.

I wear heels that usually range in the 2-3 inch range. These are 4 1/4 and I feel akward walking in them. I would practice at home, but I have w2w carpeting and they are really slippery.

If you intend to keep them, put them on and scuff the soles up outside on cement/blacktop.

It takes a little while to get used to them, but eventually you'll think nothing of it. Just wear them whenever you go out to dinner, a bar, lounge, etc....someplace where you won't be on your feet for 8+ hours. (get dressed about an hour prior to going out to get used to them...have a glass of wine and walk around the house! Chat Icon )

Jen, those are hot.

I think if you are not used to it, start gradually. you will get used to them eventually.Chat Icon

The thing is, comfort has more to do with the design of the shoe than the actual height of the heel. The arch has alot to with it as well as the sole. Those shoes have a very steep arch and no platform to help compensate. And the heel is curved in. To top it off, the sole is very thin so you are basically putting all your weight on the balls of your feet. They look uncomfortable from a mile away. Chat Icon

ETA: I had a pair of boots that had that arch problem. I bought one of those cushion things for the inside and it made them totally wearable... maybe try that.

Yes!! You nailed it exactly. I'm not comfortable with the arch of the boot itself. Maybe I should just stick with taking pics of myself in these cute booties and just selling them. Chat Icon

Most of my heels are that high, and I wear them every single day. It was never gradual, I am just the type of person who feels very comfortable in high heels. I wear them with jeans, etc. It is all about the arch.

same- most of mine are at least 3.5 inches

I am only 5'1 so I need the height to not look like a 12 year old

I am used to it- but I sit for 80% of the day
