DD is on it now - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. She is almsot 3 and because she is so constipated the dr had us give her almost a whole capful of the stuff. When she drank the whole thing, it really worked. I would check with your dr but your DD might need more to start and then taper off.

Awww I'm so sorry she's going through that
Is she getting enough fluid? If not much is coming out and it's hard it could mean she needs water. Miralax can actually have the opposite affect (more constipation) if there's not enough fluid to help push everything through. Or maybe a different dosage. DS went through this and the Dr said we had to make sure he took enough water for it to be effective or else he won't have enough moisture to work.
Have you called the Dr? I would, incase they need to adjust something. Good Luck!

That doesn't sound like enough Miralax for an 18 month old. My son is 9 months and he gets 3/4 of a tsp.

DS take Benefiber every day for [sorry if TMI] - pellet poops.
He gets 1 tablespoon per day in his night time cup. We can tell the next day if he missed it. DS has been doing this since ~15 months. His ped said he was constipated - that's why he needed it. Its a bulk fiber which apparently adds volume to the "code brown" so it moves down the line easier?
He eats a lot of fruit, drinks a decent amount of water and very limited amounts of juice so I'm confused why he'd need bulk b/c he eats a lot...but if it works for you...
According to the label - it doesn't add any taste to the beverage. DS still has a sippy cup so he thinks its fun to shake it in.

Both my DC are on it. My DD has been taking it since she was 1 (she's almost 3 now.) She gets a whole capful. My DS is 15 months and he gets 1/2 a cap. It definitely works for them.

Re: Anyone who's used Miralax for their toddler...
All 3 of my children took/take it. We have been to a GI specialist since my oldest was 1 yr. The problem being that if she is extremely conspitated already it is so compacted up there she need help to move that part along. The GI told us we had to do a enema first to help. Also Miralax is not something that should be given only when constipated. It should be given everyday until the child has no problems and then need to be weaned off.
That was the mistake we had with our oldest. We had no idea and we were surprised when the GI dr told us this.
HTH and to you guys!
