Anyone with experiences with Child Support...
I'm sooo frustrated with this whole thing... Basically my Ex-husband owes over $21,000 in backed child support since 2003, I haven't seen one cent of it! I have no idea where my Ex is... and I keep contacted CS and they haven't done anything... they keep sending me more papers to fill out (always the same papers) and then last year I went there to meet with someone and when I got all the way there (from Southampton to Ronkonkoma) they told me that I didn't have to see someone that they would file for a court date for non-compliance... 2 months later, I get more papers in the mail... the same ones I already filled out 3 or 4 times I don't understand what the big problem is, and everytime I call they have NO idea what they are talking about.. the last one put me on hold to see what I needed to do because she didn't understand the letter I got from HER for 15 minutes! I have another meeting there tomorrow and I'm not leaving until they actually do something!!! I'm just curious what anybody elses experience with them is?? I thought they were cracking down on dead beat dads??!!

I don't have any experience, but I can tell you that you need to get a good attorney who will begin to garnish your ex's salary. A good friend of mine just went through this.
Good Luck!

Jenn, if it makes you feel any better my Mothers still has a judgement against my father for overdue child support and it's from when I was a kid. At some point I am sure my Mom will put the judgement in and the interest is going to be a killer

Re: Anyone with experiences with Child Support...
DHs cousin is going through a divorce now and is having her husband's pay garnished since she has a pretty strong feeling he won't pay it otherwise (long story) but she knows where he is.
THis is going to sound crazy, but the investigative reporters on all the channels (like Arnold Diaz or 7 on your side) are pretty good at tracking people down and helping cut through the burocratic red tape.
There was recently an interesting story on 20/20 (I think) where they tracked down a multimillionare deadbeat dad who was living overseas. They convinced him that they were a new client interested in his business and set up a lunch meeting. He flew back to the US and they confronted him in the restaurant and he sat through the whole meal trying to defend himself! I'll try to find the link to the story, maybe they have some ideas on how to get some help.
ETA: 20/20's story on tracking down deadbeat dads

That's what I thought was going to happen!!! I'm tempted to say forget it, but that's not fair!

Have you ever tried to track him down? I imagine these days it would be very easy.

With all honesty I don't want to really know where he is... he's a real a$$ and it's safer that I don't know where he is I still keep in touch with his parents sort of... they drop by to see Jordan on the way past twice a year and they won't tell me where he is... he moves ALOT to keep away from the trouble he's caused everywhere! Everytime I find him, he's moved again... and he doesn't hold a job too well so the wage garnishing might be hard to do sooo frustrating!
