Anyone with pine baby furniture, need advice?
My mom works at Fortunoff and can get an amazing discount on the baby furniture. I can get a Legacy set (which I herd was really good) for great prices either in pine or harder wood. The pine is a much cheaper price. I am weary of getting pine since I heard it issoft and can get easily damaged. Anyone with words of wisdom? Please, please, please!!!

I have pine floors and I hate to say it, but when people walk on them in heels...they do dent. It is a soft wood and it is inevitable that you will knock it and damage it. Also, my kitchen table is pine (just remembered) and if you so much as drop something on it, it will dent.
I like pine, that wouldn't stop me from buying pine furniture, its just a matter of how perfect you like things, me, I like the farmhouse shabby chic look anyway!

That was the whole reason we didn't get pine. Its so soft and damges easily. We wanted the furniture we bought to last as she grew up. If you just plan to use it for a few years and don't mind if you have to replace the set at some point then go for the less expensive wood but if you want it to last I would make the investment on a better wood.

Thanks guys, I am probably going to stay away from the pine no matter how much cheaper it is. I was surprised to learn about 75% of people buy pine baby furniture from Baby Fortunoff though.

Don't do the pine. I purchased my crib thinking it was oak. Since it was called Honey oak and over 300 bucks.
Well besides my son is bucky the beaver, numerous peoples belts, buttons and rings have knicked this crib, along with his mobile and aquarium. Like I would even be able to use this ever as a full size bed.
Million dollar baby and I forget the company's other name (it's the emily crib) did mail me a a nice touch up pen.. lol
Edited to add he is only 14 months old and we did have teething rails on it but because of the size of the rails he would just pull them off and then use them to beat up the crib more..
This was before..

I have a pine bedroom set and I will NEVER do it again! It dents so easily. I say go for the harder wood. Spend the little extra, its worth it.......
