Re: Anyone work at home...
Well the only thing I can suggest is what I have been doing. I'm taking an online course to become a medical billing specialist. I'm hoping that when I'm done with it, I could do that from home. but in the meantime, I have been looking for a part time job. let me know if you want the info for it.

Re: Anyone work at home...
here's a good website but the work at home jobs certainly don't seem easy to come by. I mean, everyone and their mother would love to do it, ya know? This site has a little bit of everything from doing telecommuting to starting your own biz...

Re: Anyone work at home...
I work at home, but my employer and I arranged it shortly after I announced my pregnancy.
Its great to be able to be with Aidan all day, but sometimes its a juggle.
Sorry I can't be more help, I know there are alot of scams out there, if it seems to good to be true it prolly is.

My SIL does medical transcription. She took a course. But I hear the work is very hard to come by. How long are you going to be home Stefanie?

Re: Anyone work at home...
I have my own business that I run from my home but thats more of a full time thing not for a short period of time
But to help with $$ how about selling stuff on ebay? Even if its stuff Jared has grown out of, old maternity clothes, etc.

I think e-bay is the best thing to do...
Plus, maybe I can do some tutoring on the side...

Re: Anyone work at home...
I work from home. My situation is a bit different, I transferred in my company to a telecommuting position. I can work from where ever I want and am not attached to a particular office. We have thousands of employees that do this internationally. As long as I have my laptop and phone I am all set.

Thats a great idea!! you can have the other teachers at your school spread the word and you can advertise for free on craigslist.

Re: Anyone work at home...
My mother always watched teachers' children.
She'd start up in Sept, and watch them from 8:30ish until 3:30ish, she'd have all holidays off, and the whole summer to herself. She usually had 1 or 2 kids, and was paid about $55-60 per kid, per day. And that's CASH, baby!

Re: Anyone work at home...
Stefanie, my best friend is a Spanish teacher and did tutoring while PG and then taught Adult Ed a couple of nights a week. She also received a grant to create an emergency Spanish course for Fire Depts and EMT's to take through her local fire depts. I think she did it tiwce (as in taught the course twice for however long it was-a few weeks long). She made like $60 an hr doing it.
What about watching another child in your home a few days a week?

Re: Anyone work at home...
i am working on those printables - baby announcements, holiday cards, menus, programs, and random other design stuff.. it is alot of fun.. but ink and special paper and envelopes add up and can be an expense.
i am also framing and matte-ing several honeymoon pics of landscapes, architecture, flowers etc... from new zealand and looking to sell them on ebay or put them up in a coffee shop and sell them there if possible.
this is on top of a regular full time job.. just for extra money and fun.
