Anyones 3 year olds having nightmares?
I posted this recently but no one answered. Not sure if it was even seen.
Its like when Megan turned exactly 3, she started having nightmares. EVERY night she cries in her sleep and around 5 in the morning, she wakes up screaming asking to come to bed with me. I feel so bad for her because shes scared and her sleep is so broken. I dont know what to do??
Is this the age for bad dreams??

Re: Anyones 3 year olds having nightmares?
DD will be 3 next month and started too. She would wake up crying and sometimes not even want to be consoled..
She also used to sleep in a dark room, and has started wanting light on when she goes to bed. We do it, if it helps.. great. We turn the lamp off once she's asleep and just keep a nightlight on overnight.
but yea.. DD has been the same way lately. I think I remember that it does happen at this age. Those little minds just start wandering...
Hope they snap out of it soon!

Re: Anyones 3 year olds having nightmares?
We are having the same problem with DS. He will be 3 in 3 weeks. He started to be afraid of the dark. A night light doesn't help. He wakes up almost every night crying and comes into our bed.

I'm having this problem and my little guy is only 21 1/2 months. The doctor says its night terrors and all we could do is let him cry it out.

Re: Anyones 3 year olds having nightmares?
My DS is 3 and he just started with them. He woke up last week crying about monsters and clung to me and he has been scared since. He won't go into the bathroom at night or up into his room without me holding his hand and he just keeps talking about the monsters. Maybe it's all the Halloween stuff. My DS #1 would get night terrors but not too many nightmares and my DD never really had nightmares either so this is my first with the nightmares.

Night terrors is different from nightmares bc it's near impossible to wake them from NT. And they are inconsolable. I would just lay in bed with my son and hold him.

Re: Anyones 3 year olds having nightmares?
omg...we just had this happen last night.
2 days ago, we come in from a day out. TV was on, I was getting ready to go back out.
it was a 9/11 special. not even showing the planes, just the towers up in smoke.
he must have heard the narrator talking about the planes...last night he was up crying at 3 am that planes were coming into his house! he only watched this show for 2 minutes tops!

Re: Anyones 3 year olds having nightmares?
My boys are starting to do that. Christopher can be soothed back to sleep by himself, or I will rub his back, but matthew wants out, so I take him downstairs and he falls back to sleep on the couch.....I know bad habit
It started when we were watching Shark week.
