anyone's baby measuring BIG early on?
I had my 28 week appt this weekend and the doctor said that the baby was measuring at 3 1/2 lbs. And then she said something about being surprised that I passed my 1 hr glucose test and "let's hope baby doesn't get too big" (I'm barely 5 ft and 105 lbs pre-pg).
I wasn't overly concerned when she said it bc she didn't sound overly concerned but when I went home I looked my pg books and websites and they all said baby should be at about 2 1/2 lbs at this point, so my is a full lb more than he should be!!
Am I going to have humongo 12 lb baby???? Is it possible that I got a false negative on the GCT test?
I'm going to start doing more Kegels!! I think I'll need all the muscular elasticity I can muster!!!

Re: anyone's baby measuring BIG early on?
I feel like all doctors tell people that their babies are going to be sooooo big. My DS always measured bigger (weigt and length). This one is the same way. But, DS was 7/12 and 19 inches - not too big. He WAS 17 days early (and healty - very healthy) and this one is on the same path (although I would have to have him today).
It's so hard to say and the growth sonos can be off as much as a pound either way. Always be prepared because I would think that 5 lbs or 8 lbs - it's going to be interesting.
Good luck and try to stay away from those cakes (I didn't)......I'll probably have a 7 lb baby and an 8 poung cupcake - hehe.
Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy.

Re: anyone's baby measuring BIG early on?
I had an appointment on friday...32 weeks 4 days. My doctor measured me with the tape measurer and said I am measuring extremely large and high. He's sending me for a sono next week. He said I need to watch my starches and carbs because at this point it will only bulk up the baby more and i'll end up with a 9-10 pound baby and risk a section.

Re: anyone's baby measuring BIG early on?
I have been measuring a week ahead the whole time and was told I could be having a 9 pounder. I had a sono at 34 weeks and now he is measuring right on target so sometimes they slow down.
I'm not sure how accurate the sonos are. I have lots of friends who were told they were having gigantic babies and their babies were around 7 pounds.

My baby was measuring a week ahead from 18 weeks. She was 9lb 2oz at birth - and I had her 4 days before my due date.

My baby has been measuring 2.5 wks ahead since 17wks. I'm sure things will change as time goes on...though I've been saying all along that I want a big baby.

I said that too! Clearly I was only thinking of the baby and not the state of my vagina!
