DD has been succesfully toliet trained for a few weeks...we started in early dec and she did great....but now she refuses to go whenever we are out...i even broke down and bought a foldabel potty but still, she won't go saying "no Mommy, too big.." She has been home with me since friday when school ended so I know nothing happened to scare her.....so why on earth has she given up on being potty trained unless we are home or she is at school????
hoping someone here can shed some light for us....

One of my kids refused after using an automatic flush.
Do you offer to hold her?

I always have....she is too little to do it hersefl....but now she just wont' even try...goes limp and refuses...then has an accident later....meanwhile at home and school neevr has accidents, just goes....I guess we will have to lug her toilet seat cover thing from home with us everywhere (or buy another thats exactly the same since the portable folding one didn't work!)

Yes, this happened to my DD months after she was fully trained. We had used a ring in the beginning, then took it away after only a couple of weeks or a month.
Well, suddenly, she developed this aversion to the toilet--everywhere--even at home! She insisted upon using the ring again, but when we were out, obviously this was impossible. She would literally hold it for HOURS until we could get home and use the ring. We actually had a travel toilet that she would insist on using in the car after we left a place WITH a toilet!! Even when I tried telling her this was for emergencies only! She would tell us the toilet was too big and that she would fall in. We offered to hold her--nothing.
One day, it resolved itself miraculously. It turned out her little nemesis in school told her she was going to fall in and drown so the poor thing was petrified. Then one day she exclaimed, "Grandma was right--I'm NOT going to fall in!!" And that was that.
I know this didn't help, but I hope it resolves itself soon for you!
