Do you have the VR6? I might be off but I think a special tool is required if you do. I know it's always a pain for me to find a place that can do my oil changes because they don't carry my filter or the tool.

Aw, I am sorry. It is hard to explain when you are not there with a person.

Glad you figured it out though!Chat Icon

In any car, the best thing to do is locate the drain plug. It is pretty big & it will tell you where the oil pan is. If you remove the oil pan (after draining out the oil) that is generally where you can find the oil filter. Depending on the car you might need special tools to drop the oil pan. For example, in my Porsche I needed a specific size & shape ratchet attachment to remove 12 bolts and drop the oil pan. For my dodge I just needed a regular standard ratchet.
ETA. Also depending on the car, you may or may not need to replace a gasket or seal every few oil changes.
