Re: Anyone's DH prescribed Clomid?
My DH has been on it for the past 9 months....
Clomid is said to raise hormone levels especially testosterone which is needed in sperm production....my DH's counts changed because of that.....
His T levels pre Clomid were 204 and after 1100!!!!! He is also like a sex machine and always ready he has more energy and just feels great on it!!!!
If your DH's hormone levels are normal (FSH, LH & testosterone) then Clomid will not make a difference in counts....it only works when T levels are below normal
GL!!
Check out this website - it is strictly dedicated to male factor and male infertility http://www.maleinfertility.org/
This is a great info on Clomid
Other hormonal changes have been described for men with severe infertility. Pavlovich et al. (2001) reported on lower serum testosterone levels with high estradiol levels in men with infertility that was significantly different from a fertile reference group. Restoration of normal testosterone/estradiol levels was possible using treatment with oral aromatase inhibitors. An associated increase in sperm production and quality was also seen. Previously, it was thought that these men simply do not produce enough testosterone. These observations suggest that some men with severely dysfunctional testes may lose significant testosterone via aromatization to estrogens, an effect blocked by aromatase inhibitors. So, men with low testosterone levels are not always deficient in hormone production - they may actually have abnormal metabolism of the testosterone that is being produced

Re: Anyone's DH prescribed Clomid?
My DH is taking Clomid. He's been taking it for the past 2 months. While we don't have the formal results of the bloodwork, his counts were SIGNFICANTLY higher yesterday when we did the IUI compared to pre Clomid.
