anyone's ped not order 1 year blood work?
at DS's 12 month visit nothing was said about blood work. i assume he'll order it at the 15 month visit. i'm going to ask either way.
it doesn't bother me at all, but did anyone else's baby have it done later than one year?

Ours doesn't do it until 2 years old...although I think at around 9 months they do a finger-prick to take a drop of blood (I only vaguely remember it).

Ours ordered it at 12 months and I've yet to go and she's 15 months...does that count?

I know that they at least test for lead and iron. DS had his bloodwork done when he was 12 months and his lead came back fine, but he was slightly anemic and had to go on vitamins that had iron in them.
They did a finger prick to re-test his iron around 18 months and he was fine.
(the iron was important to us because our house is very old... 1934... and we wanted to make sure he wasn't getting lead in his system from the house.)
Not sure what else they test.

mine didn't mention it, but I asked at the 15 month visit and just did it finally at 19 months.
