Apartment dwelling mommies (and daddies)
Any tips on how to make space for all the toys and give DD an adequate playing area? I have a toy box in the living room that looks like furniture but soon enough that won't be enough. There really isn't any room in her bedroom to store anything either. Also, right now I move the coffee table out of the way and she plays in the living room, but I feel like I am constantly switching the room from a play room to a living room and back. What do you do?

Re: Apartment dwelling mommies (and daddies)
Our living room is now her play room. Her bedroom is very small and there isn't much in a way of a closet either. So we took out our end tables and coffee table from our living room and all her toys are in there. We don't have much company so it really isn't a problem that there isn't a space for too many guests. As she gets older we figure we'll rotate her toys and put what we can't fit in our basement.

Re: Apartment dwelling mommies (and daddies)
We don't have a coffee table. Our place is too small for one.
I have two storage bins from Land of Nod stacked on top of each other (like the pic below). They are very nice and sturdy.
I also keep her stuffed animals in a net hung in the corner of the bedroom. I rotate them in/out.
We have limited the amount of large toys that come in. At least until we move into a larger space. I so want to get her a kitchen set but that just won't happen until mid-next year when we move. We have a lot of smaller toys, arts/crafts, books and puzzles.
I have also taken out toys that she has outgrown and stored them away. I'd sell them but we plan on having more kids.

Good idea! I'm going to have to do that.
Thanks everyone. This helps. Keep 'em coming!

Sorry no ideas. We have toys lined up against every wall, dresser, etc. We basically just have passage ways through the room
Now as he is getting older, the toys are getting much less bulky, thank goodness!
