Apparently BFing is working!!!
Took my 1 month old son to the doctor yesterday... he is now weighing in at 11 pounds, 10 ounces!!!
He has gained 2 and a half pounds since his last doctor appointment 2 weeks ago!
To my mom and MIL who were worried he wasn't getting enough food by me strictly bfing.... ha ha!!!

Yeah!! My DS was EBF and a great weight gainer, too. It really makes me wonder why people get so worried about EBF babies gaining enough weight. All the ones I know gained just fine.

A fat, healthy baby is the best revenge! I think my MIL had her doubts and wanted me to fail because she quit early, but I powered through and DD is so healthy! I love it! Good for you!!! Revel in your accomplishment.

I agree! My mom and MIL never BF so everytime we got home form the doc, it took all I had to say nah nah nah nah nah nah!!!! Congratulations

I could have written this myself! Both my mom and MIL were unsuccessful in BFing. Every time I would say the baby was fussy, my mother would say "maybe he's not getting enough milk... maybe you should pump into bottles so that you know how much he is eating". My comments were always the same... he's pooping, peeing, and gaining weight.... nuf said!!!
It does feel great to know that I am successful in keeping my baby healthy!

My mom & MIL drove me crazy those first few weeks insisting that he looked like he was losing weight.
My stomach was in knots until the doctors told me he gained weight each time.
Finally I said "I don't want your opinion on his weight."
Glad it's working for you! Good job!!
