Applesauce in the crock pot...
I am going to be making applesauce in the crockpot tomorrow at work for my class and another class.
I was just going to wing it ---- some apples, cinnamon, sugar...
but i'm wondering if I should follow a recipe...
and do I need to add water?
Does anyone have a good recipe?

Re: Applesauce in the crock pot...
I just had to say that I was subbing one week and the teacher was doing the same thing...she cut the apples really small and left the skin on them, she added sugar and cinnamon and that was it (no water)..it came out soooo gooood and the kids loved it!!
To me it tasted more like apple pie filling instead of applesauce.
Good luck!!

Re: Applesauce in the crock pot...
I made it with my class and they loved it!
We used about 20 apples, 1 cup of brown sugar and I let 5 kids sprinkle in cinnamon.
It was a hit!

Maybe I can make this for thanksgiving! Otherwise it will be way too much for just DH and I.

You can always make a much smaller batch. I only made so much since I was serving 2 classes and knew we wanted to share with the principals and lots of teachers.
if you do 8 apples I'd do maybe 1/4-1/2 cup of brown sugar and maybe 1 dash of cinnamon.
ETA that it would be SOOOO good warm over a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
