applying for a paraprofessional position

Hello,
Anyone know when the DOE will lift the hiring freeze on the para applications? Last time I checked HR connect, the cutoff date was March 16, 2012 so have there been any other changes since? Can someone still go to a school closest to their neighborhood and get a principal nomination?

I appreciate any guidance you can give me. Thank you.
You can also FM me.

Seems the way to get your foot in the door is start as a substitute para, then the principal can hire you if there is a position and they like you.

That I am not 1000% sure of, but I think you have to get picked by a principal and then ou can get on the sub registry.

Not sure, but I will ask my AP tomorrow if I get a chance! I know we hire sub paras a lot. We get new kids with 1:1s all the time, so they are always short-staffed.
