Re: Are bangs "in"?

I think it depends on the persons face. I dont think it was ever "out of style"

I like long sweeping bang layer, not bangs itself...

Re: Are bangs "in"?

IMO - No.
And even when they are they go out of style before you even get a chance to grow them out ( which is a huge annoying PITA )

But if you really love it go for it - who cares what is in style.

Re: Are bangs "in"?

I wouldnt do it now for the summer, cause if you suffer from frizzy hair, short hair tends to frizz faster, so your bangs will curl. I would wait till the fall if you really want to do it.

I've had them my whole life. There is no way I can grow them out, it's just the way my hair grows and my forhead is huge anyway. They do take a lot of upkeep and constant trimming (which I don't recommend doing yourself). It really is one thing I hate about my hair because they are so easy to look bad and that can just make everything else look bad too.

Re: Are bangs "in"?

thanks ladies! frizz isn't an issue, my hair is pin straight - it takes a major effort to make a wave in it even.

I asked hubby about it - and he was useless. here's a pic!!

Im not crazy about the way the bangs sit in the first pic. But I like how they look in the 2nd pic.

I like longer side swept bangs, not bangs cut short that rest on your forehead.

I like the second picture, not the first. I think it depends on your face if you can pull it off or not.

I have never paid attention to trends where bangs/no bangs are concerned. I don't look good without them. I love the no-bangs look but can't pull it off.

I think if you want them, go for it.

When I look at people I tend to notice their overall hairstyle and whether or not it works for them, as opposed to whether or not they're up on whatever the new hair trend is.

Of course, the Cindy Brady bangs are DEFINITELY out. Chat Icon

I think they look cute -- they are versatile which is nice. Mine are a little longer then that so I can't wear them straight any more but I do wear them swept over to the side like the 2nd pic or loosely parted so I can see but not sprayed into place.

ETA -- I think you could pull off the look!

The bonus of longer bangs is that if you don't like them, it's not that bad to grow out since they are already longer.

it's so funny - DH went with me to see The Devil Wears Prada and I asked him if he thought Anne Hathaway was pretty and he said, "I like her smile, but I hated the bangs."
