Are favors necessary for 1st birthday party? I need ideas.
My DS 1st b-day party is coming up in about a month. Do you think favors are necessary? If so, can you share some ideas?
Details about party if it helps: - Expecting 45 adults and children - At Grimaldi's Pizzeria - Puppet show, Elmo character - Elmo theme - We are having a big dessert table - Elmo cake, cupcakes, cake pops, etc. ** Should I double this as a candy buffet and that can be the favor?
TIA!

I don't think they're necessary—especially for adults. I've been to a few this summer and there were no favors. How many kids are you having? And are they really young? Still not sure if I'm doing a big thing for A, but I might do something like small baby books or something for the really young ones who are too little for candy/dessert.
Otherwise, I think your dessert table is plenty. Maybe get little to-go boxes so people can take home cupcakes or cake pops?

We are having about 15 kids - ages 1-11. I really like the book idea... maybe I'll make goodie bags for the kids and just have the dessert table with extra goodies for the adults. I like the to-go box idea too. Thanks!!

we gave out musical disney characters (that wind up) and play music. We got it at Hallmark. Hallmark has some really cute things.
Another thing I was thinking of was snow globes. Maybe I will give those out next year.
