Are Nylabones safe?
We have been giving our dog Nylabones since he was a pup but im starting to wonder if they are ok - especially since he spents a lot of time in a day chewing on them.
I know it says that small particles break off and they should just pass through but i dont notice that many (not that i fully inspect his poop ) and they do have rough edges so i started wondering if maybe they are just stuck inside his stomach/intestines
Am i just being paranoid - I feel like ive read about the dangers of dogs eating non-food items and things building up inside
Thanks for any input!

I started thinking the same and switched to fully edible dental bones, which I still only give on occasion. My dog is on the small side (23 lbs) and I figured better safe than sorry.

We usually give them to him as a "busy" toy - but even things like Kongs he chews through and eats the bits

I guess my question is are they any better/worse than him eating his other toys? Basically any toy he has he eventually rips apart and always eats it Of course we take it away when we notice but sometimes he gets a lot eaten before we catch him

Re: Are Nylabones safe?
My bulldog uses them, and he is unable to do rawhide or any other edible bone because of their shortened digestion track.
All of the vets I have been to have recommended them for bulldogs, as has my rescue organization.
One question though - the particles you can actually see? I have never seen any particles, because they are supposed to be no larger than a rice.

Re: Are Nylabones safe?
I used to give them but now have reservations about them and have been trying a bunch of different things. The best item so far are deer antlers. I get them from Feasts for Beasts in Setauket. They are pricey but they last, the dogs do not get tired of them, and they are all natural. No stuffing.
