Are there any recent Associate RN's out there???
I am curious how the job field is looking. I heard some hospitals are only taking RN's with a BS

Re: Are there any recent Associate RN's out there???
I'm meeting up with a girlfriend tomorrow who has a BS in nursing and has been working as a RN for 15 years. I'll see what she says. she did advise me NOT to become a LPN. I just met another lady who got her associate RN and still 4 months later cannot find a job ( in NYC) she was top of her class ?! I thought this field needed people ?!

Have you considered the one year excelerated program for the BS ??? I know it is very difficult especially if you are working or a mother on top of the school. I'm pretty sure you need all A's also. not sure

Re: Are there any recent Associate RN's out there???
Aw, thats okay. I have been looking at all of my options. Accelerated program would not be for me, that is really for people that already have a Bachelor degree in another field. I do not. I also work full time and have a family, and timewise that would be impossible for me.
Even to get into the BSN programs there will be additional core classes to take after I graduate with my associates, before I can be accepted in to the program. I feel like I have been in school forever and will be in school forever...forget about if I was to go for Advanced Practice degree I'll be 101 years old.
I do have mostly A's, and hope life experience will give me some credits, but who knows. Anyway if you have any questions about school, or its challenges, I am happy to say been there done that, and would be glad to share any info. I can. I remember how daunting it was in the beginning.
