Are tomatoes safe now?
I'm craving a BLT but is it safe to eat tomatoes now? I haven't heard anything recently. I was about to send DH to the grocery store..... I checked news12 and couldn't find anything.

It depends on the ones you get. get the cherry tomatos or the ones on the vine and you'll be okay.

I would not risk it! there were 7 cases of salmonella in NYC 2 days ago

the latest is that they narrowed the source to florida or mexico... so any tomatoes from other places are fine.....

The cases were confirmed a few days ago which means it has been 2-3 weeks since the person was sick (lab results, we are still waiting on my brothers). Get local tomatoes, they are fine, someone has to have some out already
