Are we responsible for payment to the ambulance we called or do our taxes pay for it ???
just curious as i heard someone in the PICU say that our taxes should pay for it ..........

Your taxes should pay for it. I have called the ambulance several times and never gotten a bill.

Um. No.
Are you in the city? Your insurance should cover it. If you are on Medicaid, then Medicaid covers it.
My DH is an EMT for the FDNY

Canada - the state pays.

Insurance pays. Taxes generally don't cover this.

My DH is an EMT for the FDNY
no nassau county will will receive a bill then ?? or will our insurance get billed directly ??

If you gave the EMT doing patient care your insuranc einformation they will pay it, if not you will get a bill and submit it.

FYI- Depends on what type of ambulance it is ...who dispatched it. You may get a bill from them. Most do not accept insurance and the insurance company needs to pay them directly and get involved. So if you get a bill from them, call your insurance and explain, they will know how to proceed.

when I called them, they came to my home, checked Josh, then told me to bring him to hospital myself, never got a bill.
Another time, dr called for one from drs office. They brought us to hospital. Still paying that insane bill. Insurance only paid 30% of it.
