Are we strange for NOT using our master bath?
for showering and getting ready in the morning? I think we are weird!
Reason being, our master bath has a stall shower and tub. We're both used to bathtub showers. Plus, DH gets up really early so he likes going into the other bathroom so that he can get ready while I sleep.
We use the master bath for going to the bathroom...and I use it for washing my face at night and doing my hair/makeup in the morning. I like the lighting better in there.
So...are we weird? Anyone else do this?

You definately are not weird. We do something very similar but our stall shower is out of commission in the master bath right now. We had a leak & have yet to fix it. So both DH & I take showers in the other bathroom. DH gets up REALLY early in the am & uses the other bathroom. I do use the master for the bathroom & to do all my nightly & daily duties with exception to shower.
When the shower was working properly, I still was the only one that showered in there. DH happens to like the bathtub shower better...

No! We have a master bath too and it took us nearly a month after we moved in to use it!
I was doing my hair, makeup etc. in there b/c it has a window and the light is great.
We were just showering in the 2nd bathroom for some reason.
Finally I took the best shower and said to DH - why haven't we showered in there yet?
Now I can' stop!

I use it exclusively for showering and getting ready. In fact, sometimes, I will go upstairs just to use the facilities..
If the bathroom isn't conducive to using it, maybe you should change some things around?

We almost never use our master bath, since it will then be one more bathroom to have to clean! We use the standard 2nd floor bathroom for showering and getting ready since my DDs talk a bath there already. It makes for less cleaning!

we don't use ours either. the babys bathtub is in there.
we use the bath upstairs where our BR is. its just easier.

Before I had kids I preferred to use my main bath for everything but the few things you mentioned. But now that I have kids (the main bath is right outside thier rooms and they wake up easily) - I always use my master and I hate the shower stall and smaller bathroom - I can't wait until we blow it out - then I will love to use it.

Yeah, me too!! The other option is on the second floor that we keep the heat on really low so I would be freezing if I needed to shower up there!

same with us
but we rent- and everything is on the same floor and close to together
the main bathroom is across from the master bedroom
when I buy a house- I would prefer to use the master bath for getting ready- but it would have to be larger then the one with have now - which only has a stall shower
my parents only used there master bath- and we (3 kids) shared the large one on the second floor
and then everyone used the one on the main floor

I never use mine. Ever! It's a tiny one, it has a stall shower (and its big enough to fit a tub, so I have no idea why there isn't a tub!), a pedestal sink and toilet. And a medicine cabinet, but no real storage. So I always use and shower and get ready in the bathroom that's in the hall. The master bath is used by my DH, who needs a lot less stuff in his shower

DH and i split our bathrooms - i got the bigger one with the bathtub, he got the smaller one in the bedroom with the shower stall. works perfectly.
