Honestly, since DS was born he was pretty high maintenance (a host of GI issues and various surgeries) for the first year. Then I got pg again when he was about 16 months or so. So I would say I've been a pretty crappy wife (in my eyes) because I've either been more focused on DS and his issues or being miserably pregnant again. Luckily I have a very understanding DH.

This is pretty much the same with me. I was on bed rest for most of my pregnancy, so no Chat Icon . DS was and still is a very needy child. Got pregnant when he was just shy of 1 yr old, and had a bunch of pregnancy issues. Now being a mom to 2 under 2, I'm exhausted.Chat Icon So Chat Icon is definitely the last thing on my mind.Chat Icon Poor DH...but he is very understanding.

Mother....without a doubt.

Before the twins were born I was getting close to that good balance between great mom and wife. Now I need to figure it out again, b/c lately I am a pretty crappy wife!!! Chat Icon Luckily DH gets that it is not forever.....

Definitely a better mom, especially now that I'm pregnant with twins and totally exhausted all the time. I would imagine I won't be able to focus on the wife stuff for quite awhile. Chat Icon I do try to support him -- listen to him vent about work when I have a million other things to do, sit & watch TV with him for a little hile when I really just want to go to sleep. I know he appreciates that, even though it's just small stuff. Hopefully we'll manage a date night soon.

Mother. I hate cooking and have been behind with cleaning since #2 came. And I can't stomach hearing about sports or weather much, so I cut him off Chat Icon

But our relationship works like that. Chat Icon

I'm probably a crappy wife for DH. I'm a SAHM so I'm with DS all day. He can be very trying at times so by the time DH gets home my patience is gone! I snap alot at him.

Re: Are you a better wife (or SO) or mother?

I am at a loss. I don't want to pick both, I feel like really I am better at one more then the other and choosing both seems boring...

As a mother, I feel very confident in the job i am doing.

As a wife, I feel like I go above and beyond.

He would say mother. He says it is okay till they are 5, then the focus is back on wife.

I am torn.

I'm a much better mother than wife. Lots of my wifely duties take the backseat lately. I really need to work on that in 2011 Chat Icon I guess I'll have to cook dinner tomorrow!

I'm an amazing mother and I'm a really good wife too but sometimes my DH doesn't always get the attention he needs because I am taking care of our DD. All and all though, I think I'm doing very well at both roles!! Chat Icon

i dont know how to answer this ahhh... I always question if i am too selfish when I leave my family to sing with opera companies for long periods of time. I guess its just my own insecurities.

I think I am a very good wife but I have to say that I am a better mother. My son comes before anyone and I go above and beyond for him in every way.
