Are you a "nervous" person?
Are you a typically "nervous" person? If you don't hear from someone, do you automatcally start thinking about the worst scenerio?
I am nervous to a fault! DH and I usually talk numerous times throughout the day and his phone is never off. Today I tried calling him and his phone either goes directly to voicemail or rings 2x and goes to voicemail. I can't reach via direct connect either. A normal person would think that maybe his phone is off or the battery is dead, but I, of course start worrying about him. I keep fighting with the idea of calling his job, but I know I probably shouldn't. He always says I worry too much. It's just that I ALWAYS hear from him by now.

Re: Are you a "nervous" person?
If DH was 5 minutes late coming home from work, i was already in tears and planning his funeral.. wondering how i would deal with being a widow...
i've gotten MUCH better with it... but i think some of that comes with us having opposite schedules, so i'm not there to worry about if he's late.

Re: Are you a "nervous" person?
in general, no. but with DH i am a worrywart - i know he can get hurt any minute at work, so if i don't hear from him, i start freaking. he knows this though i'm sure your DH is fine... maybe give him a little while longer, he may just be caught up in something at work. if you don't hear from him in a little bit, go ahead and call him at work just to make sure and put your mind at ease.

Re: Are you a "nervous" person?
Yes I do this all the time.
My DH isn't home yet and I keep IMing him with Where are yous?. Meanwhile his name is idle so I know he isn't back yet. Plus he forgot his cellphone at home so I am a nervous wreck that something has happened

Not really. Growing up, my sister and mother always worried about everything, so I never had to!

Not at all. Unfortunately I'm the whole other extreme where I rarely worry. I still get aggravation over telling DH not to overreact on 9/11.

the worst was that one time when he was late, i was sitting there going through the mail and there was something from Pinelawn. There was No comforting me that night.

Re: Are you a "nervous" person?
I could not stand it anymore so I called him. He wasn't mad, his phone's battery was dead though. Like I said, a normal person probably would have assumed that. As long as he wasn't mad though. I told him "know that you are LOVED".
Its a relief to see I'm not the only one though! Do your DH's get mad at all when you get all nervous?
I'm like this w/ only DH and my parents. Sheesh, I'm going to be an overprotective, neurotic mom, aren't I?

DH used to get annoyed that he had to appologize for not laying dead in a gutter somewhere... but he's gotten better with it.. because i've toned it down, also.

Re: Are you a "nervous" person?
Life would probably be easier if I just broke out a bottle of wine now and then.
I think I have toned it down some as well. I think I waited a good 2 hours longer then I would have a few years ago. He has tried to be understanding though and call if he is running late. He's definitely trying to do his part.

Re: Are you a "nervous" person?
Yes I am... it took DH awhile (when we were dating) to realize that he needs to call when he is going to be late or when he leaves a bar/club...etc... I lost too many important people to me from car accidents-I don't want that to happen to anyone else that I love dearly!
