Are you getting an infant positioner?
If so, which one are you getting?
I know that Baby Bargains recommended not to get one. They look like they would be pretty useful though.

Re: Are you getting an infant positioner?
Are you talking about a sleep postioner? We had one with DD and it was completely useless. Although, I have heard it comes up in handy for Moms with babies with reflux.

I might be wrong but I think it had something to do with babies not physically being able to roll over on their own for the first few months of life anyhow...

ITA...I registered for the snuggle nest w/ sleep positioner and found no use for it especially because DS was in the bassinett for the first 2 months. I ended up returning it.

Re: Are you getting an infant positioner?
I did not use one and never needed it - a friend of mine had sent me an article on the relation of the positioners to SIDS - although I cannot find that article - here is something else
link to First Candle
Q: I have heard that the side sleep position is effective against SIDS.
A: In 1992, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommended both the side and the back sleeping position to reduce the risk of SIDS. In 1996, however, after reviewing data from various new studies, they revised their recommendation to back sleeping as the safestposition for infants. These reports indicated that the risk for SIDS is greater for babies placed on their sides versus those placed on their backs, perhaps because babies placed on their sides have a higher likelihood of spontaneously turning onto their tummies. Most recently (2005) the AAP has recommended against side sleep position for babies.

Re: Are you getting an infant positioner?
I would recommend getting one. We had a very simple one, The First Years Sleep Positioner. It actually was a lifesaver because Emerson hated to sleep on her back and with the positioner she felt a little more snuggly and was able to sleep through the night. We stopped using it around 12 weeks though because she became a little wiggle worm in the crib and would shimmy down and end up with her head in between the positioner so we decided it was time to remove it from the crib.
