"Are you getting fat?"
This is the FIRST thing my SIL asks me when I call her just to hi last night. Ughhhhhh....she ALWAYS asks about my weight. Just annoying more than anything. I know that'll I'll be getting back into shape after the baby, so that's why it doesn't stick to me and really bother me. I'd love to say something back, like "Yes I am. ANd are you getting thin?" Or I'm sure I've gained more than you lost (because she's always on a diet.) But she's my IL, and I don't want to rock the boat just because she makes a few dumb comments...
Thanks for letting me vent!!!!

Um....no! I am NOT getting fat...I am growing a baby in my stomach!!!! HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How rude! I think it would be worse if you weren't getting bigger because then your baby wouldn't be growing...duh! People are SO RUDE sometimes...its all jealousy

that is so annoying...my mom, throughout my whole pregnancy kept asking me "how much weight have you gained?"....so hurtful!!
Then, when I went for my 4 week checkup, my mom asked me "did you ask the doctor about your stomach?, I said "what about it?" she then said "well you know, it is still pretty big!!"
 I JUST HAD A BABY 4 WEEKS AGO, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT MY STOMACH TO LOOK LIKE!!!
she really ****** me off with that comment

Hahaha. I know how you feel. My aunt and my grandma used to always say, aww look how chubby you are getting. CHUBBY??? I am having a baby. I told them, its not chubby, its a baby. It would really get me mad. So I know how you feel

I would just answer, "Nope, I'm growing a baby."
or
"Yes, and I love every minute."
or something to play it off so she stops asking.

Haha, I know! I'm bracing for the face to face. My SIL is a good woman, but I know she'll have a juicy comment waiting!

My new line that I use with my DH is:
"Does this make me look pregnant?"
(instead of does this make me look fat?)
It makes me laugh!

My mom asked me A LOT at the beginning but since I did not gain TOO much she has stopped. I know how to "sound" cold if I need to.

Oh, do not worry! I am quiet about the weight gain, but I will be celebrating every pound loss LOUDLY! Look at me, look at me SIL!!! woohoohoooo! It's truly extra motivation to get back into fighting form after this kid is born. Looking good really will be the best revenge!!!
