Are you going to ignore your pre-preggo clothes for a while?

I feel for my own mental health, I am going to stay far away from trying on my pre preggo clothes for at least 4 weeks... I have some comfy sweats and stuff like that to spend my days in - anyone else?

I just dont want to go thru all the emotions of being a new mom, dealing with the ups and downs of that, not sleeping, feeling crappy, and then discovering my clothes are no where near fitting....

Who is with me on this?

I was a size 4/6 pre-preggo, went down to a 2/4 when I lost the weight from m/s, so I was pretty thin - there is no way I can squeeze my hips and butt into anything right after popping this baby out....

I haven't been following, but are you going to try BFing? If so, I would totally ignore your clothes. The weight will come off, just not right away. You really can't cut calories, and don't need the extra worry.

regardless, I think it is a great mindset to ignore your pre-preggo clothes. sometimes I put on my old jeans, and 3 months later have an unsightly camel toe effect to themChat Icon

I had a breast reduction 13 years ago, so my chances of BFing are very slim... I'm thinking although that means I wont lose the weight from that, I wont be pressured to eat a lot for the calories, so maybe I can lose the weight that way - I'm not such a bog eater to begin with - having to always think about eating this pregnancy was a huge PITA for me....

I plan on buying myself some nice new drawstring yoga pants and sweats for the first month or so.

That way they will still feel good because they are stretchy, but they will also make me feel good because they are new.

I just bought myself 2 pairs of new yoga pants and a pair of capris. I don't want to stress about fitting in my old clothes, and I don't really have a lot of clothes to just lounge around in that look presentable if anyone stops by - so I just bought them from target. Not too $$ but something new for me.

You never know! After DD, I had to go buy a new wardrobe rather quickly b/c of all the weight loss [and I didn't breastfeed!!!]. I ended up smaller than pre-pregnancy!

When she was 5 days old I fit into a "10/12."

A week later, "small" fit [I think maybe 3/5]. I ended up shrinking up to a 0!Chat Icon

I was a 4/6 pre pg with DD, i totally put all my pre preggo clothes out of site except my jeans. I would try them on periodically for inspiration.

I BF, but i wasn't so lucky to lose weight cause of it, I actually lost more weight when i stopped.

I was finally in my jeans when i got pg againChat Icon when DD was 5 months old.

I am ignoring them for a while...figuring I can wear some of my earlier maternity pants and my MIL wants to take me out to get a few paris of yoga pants and maybe one pair of jeans that I will "feel good" in while losing the weight.

Ignoring them for a while.

Since I'll be EBF twins, I won't be out of the house for several weeks. If they feed every two to three hours that only gives me a window of max an hour and a half between every feeding. I need easy "boob access" and comfy clothes.

Listen, you won't even have to ignore them on purpose! Your prego clothes will be the closest and quickest thing to pull on your bodyChat Icon I'm just kidding, but honestly, I promise that it'll be a good 4 weeks before you even care to think about clothes, adn by then, you'll have lost a great deal of weight. I've been back in my pre prego clothes for a long time, maybe since 4 months pp. It's not as bad as you'd think.Chat Icon

Re: Are you going to ignore your pre-preggo clothes for a while?

Ignoring them here!

I will be in my nicer sweats for company. Nicer meaning the ones that are clean. I plan on BFing and walking as much as possible the first month. Then I will see where I am at. I'm not sure when, but at some point weight watchers and the gym. Hopefully after three months when I go back to work I'll fit in some of my old clothes but I proly won't try anything on until at least 4-6 weeks. I can just see the meltdown now when they don't fit.
