Are you good at asking for you help with your little one
I am not. I really need to work on this. I feel like whatever time I am not at work should be spent with her.
Yesterday my Mom was getting ready to leave (she watches her 2 days a week) and I was in a lot of pain in my stomach. It actually hurt to breathe. She saw me wince and asked if I was ok. I was said yeah probably round ligament pain. That was it. I didn't ask her to stay and I should have. I couldn't pick up my DD the rest of the night. Taking care of her was difficult and to be honest I just didn't feel well.
I have always been great about offering to watch other people's kids. Then this past weekend my SIL's husband's mother died. We loved this lady a lot. We were both sad. We went to one service. We wanted to go to the others (not that we had to) but we had no one to watch my DD and none of my friends offered and I didn't ask. But I have watched all of their kids on other occassions or at least offered.
I have to work on this. I know I do, so how are you with asking for help?
Any tips?

Something like that, I would have asked my mom to stay (especially my mom).
But I do know what you mean though, my mom was watching DS yesterday and she kept calling me on the way home asking me what she could do for me, make dinner for me (DH works nights) fold laundry, etc. And of course I wanted help,b ut I didn't say yes to anything.

I have the same problem and I should have asked more when I lived closer to family. Now it's just just 4, 75miles away from family and friends. Towards the end of my pg with DD I did ask my sister to just watch DS for an hour or two since I was living with them for a short time.

I am in the same situation. My DH works nights. I normally try not to ask my mom to do more because she is the only one that watch DD. I feel like she watches her 2 days a week so she doesn't have to go to Daycare 5 days a week, she watches her occassionally on the weekends so that my DH and I can occassionally go out, she watches her every time I have late meetings or staff development at work. I just hate bothering her, but I should have asked her to stay.
My DH takes the attitude that we created her and that she is only our responsiblity and no one else. For this reason we have never gone away since she has been born without her. We have never been away from her for more than 12 hours and the reason that we don't have anyone else babysit I guess.
