it's a website dedicated to books and reading. you can keep track of all the books you are reading and how far along you are. create "want to read" and already read lists, follow your favorite authors (many of whom update their goodreads accounts with current news about books/stories), share book recommendations with friends, and join forums/discussions that are book or genre specific.
the acocunt is free, has an app just about for ever sort of device, and now sync with your amazon account so you can automatically import the books you buy.
my favorite part is the yearly challenge.
