Are you planning a Baptism/Christening?
How many months will your child be?
Are you having it at home? or a restaurant?
Can you suggest a place for 40 people in the Wantagh/Seaford/Bellmore area?

Re: Are you planning a Baptism/Christening?
yes, i'm trying to! our family likes to do it when the kids are 3 months old, or so. end of Aug. would be our plan b/c we have BIL in from London and my cousin can come up from VA. I don't have a date with the church yet, but I'd like to start calling places. Last time we had the party in a tent in the backyard and that was too much work. I thought it would be easier to be at home. The cost was about the same.

Re: Are you planning a Baptism/Christening?
I have thought about it, but havent done anything about it yet.
With DD#1, we had it in June when she was 8 months old. We catered it at our house and it turned out great. I kind of wanted to have it out this time, but I am running into a problem bc we would need he party to start at 3:30/4pm on a Sunday since the church is at 2:30pm.
And of course I have to try to work this around football season too

Re: Are you planning a Baptism/Christening?
I am planning a baptism. . . or I WILL be planning a baptism SOON when I get my behind in gear LOL
I am going back to work November 1st so I want the baptism to be before then, so the baby will be a little less than three months old.
I am having it at my parish, with hopefully the deacon who married us. . . and then going to a restaurant in our neighborhood - I think it will be immediate family and close friends but that still may mean about 70-80 people LOL

Re: Are you planning a Baptism/Christening?
I am due August 3rd and am planning something for the First Saturday in October! I thought about having it at home and getting tents and having it catered, but I think it's just too much work.. it would probably cost me the same amount of money to have it out! We expect anywhere between 50 and 70 people! As far as in the Seaford area, Cara Mia Due on Merrick Road is AWESOME! We drive there from Floral Park all the time! They also have another one in Queens Village, but Seaford is obviously better for you! Good luck, and their party prices are great too!!!

Re: Are you planning a Baptism/Christening?
I will be planning a christening sometime in July/August. DD will be about 2 1/2-3 months old. We will have a good number of people, so I have to really think of someplace to hold the guests. I will be having it somewhere in the Bellmore/Wantagh/Seaford area also

Re: Are you planning a Baptism/Christening?
In our tradition we baptize girls 80 days after birth... so she'll be almost 3 months old.
After the church part we will most likely have something at the house with immediate family and friends.

Re: Are you planning a Baptism/Christening?
We are planning a baptism. I would like to have before I go back to work in Dec. So the baby witll be about 3 months old.
I think we will be doing immediate family only with a few of our close friends at a resturant - hopefully 40 people but it may be closer to 60 or so

Re: Are you planning a Baptism/Christening?
We already booked the church for 9/26 (3 months after my EDD). Wanted to do it sooner but so many people travel during the summer that we put it off. Not sure where we're having the lunch/dinner afterwards. Since the christeining is at St. Patrick's cathedral most likey someplace in Manhattan. ( )
What about Hemingways for you??
