ARGH stubborn baby!
This baby is grounded until s/he is 23!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I live in Queens like 4 minutes away from my OB BUTTTT my sono place is practically in Suffolk! It can take 20 minutes to get there OR on some days it takes over an HOUR
I was so excited that today was the last time I have to go there, and then. . .
the baby decides to curl up into a ball! and now i have to go back! I was walking around, the lady was jiggling my stomach, but NOTHING worked and now. .
DH and I BOTH have to take off from work and drive out there
Okay so here is the question, how bad is it if I skip it? Everything else is perfectly normal, I have NO risk factors. . . this is really messing up the time I am trying to save for maternity leave and honestly causing a LOT of strain between me and DH. . .

That is frustrating. My little boy was cooperating this weekend either.
It's up to about cancelling.

Re: ARGH stubborn baby!
I would ok it with your OB before you skip any sono appt but to me, if the baby is healthy and you're not high risk I would think it would be ok. Do they have weekend hours?

She couldnt get good profile shots, she made it sound like those were for me though.
She got a bunch of pictures of the heart but said that she was missing some.
I am going to call the OB tomorrow but I wanted some advice before I did that - this was the 20 week scan, not sure of the name of it

Honestly, if it was the 20 week scan, I think you have to try again. That is a very important scan, and god forbid something is amiss, you will never forgive yourselves.

definately call your OB and see what they say. It must be frustrating to have to miss work for those appointments.

I would call your OB and see if what they got would be enough. I would not cancel without talking to the doctor first though, because like a PP said, the 20 week scan is very important.

Re: ARGH stubborn baby!
I hear you about work.
I haven't taken a day off for anything yet... I'm "saving" every day I can.
A good option may be to find a place that could scan you at LATE hours. My Ob does his own scans (at least so far)... and has 1 day a week in which he makes late appts (guess who's always there).
I have moved tests to a bit later so that they would fall into my schedule, and I usually go to things alone because DH has a tough schedule too. I've even gotten blood tests drawn at a local hospital.
Nothing about my pregnancy has gone smoothly... so I'd personally get the scan again.

Thanks for responding
This is the part that is ridiculous. I live in Howard Beach and this office is in PLAINVIEW. My OB is in Howard Beach but they don't do sonograms there. I just don't understand how the other women do it. I know plenty of people who don't drive, and would have no way of getting there. I personally don't drive but DH can take me but not everyone has that luxury.
So far, for pregnancy - I have had to leave three times two hours early and all three were to go to this office. Due ot traffic, Even if I have a 6PM appointment I still have to leave at around 4PM. It is a nightmare going out east at that time.
Sorry, I am just venting now LOL

Re: ARGH stubborn baby!
Definitely call your OB. It really depends on what the sono technician was missing.
They take tons of measurements at the Level II Anatomy Scan. I would make sure they got all the necessary measurements they needed.
if it is simply a matter of a cute profile shot or finding out the gender, then I would say cancel, but if they are missing an anatomy measurement, then definitely go.
Also, like the PP said, find out if there are other places closer to you where you can go get the scan.
My dr. gave me a list of places to choose from.

i dont think the profile shots are just for you - they need them to see the development of the nose and lips. maybe you can try and reschedule it for a weekend??

Re: ARGH stubborn baby!
Can you go to another place for the sono? I go to Madonna on Saturday's- I've gone there for all my sono's and it's great to have the Saturday appointment.

Re: ARGH stubborn baby!
Definitely don't cancel since its an important sono. At my 20 week sono we found out the sex, they located all the vital organs and checked his spine, etc. Is there a closer office you can go to for a sono? I would think your doc would just have to write a script for it and you could take it anywhere.
ps. drink lots of OJ before you go! GL!

Re: ARGH stubborn baby!
Thanks for all the advice ladies.
I was told that it was important and that I have to go back, and to the same place.
Am I the only pregnant woman who has to work? I just don't understand it but whatever.
I am annoyed. I wish I had the courage to just skip the rest of the scan and forget about it but I don't want to have it on my mind.

Boo.
I don't have the guts to skip tests either.
Too bad about the same place... at least it'll be over soon.

I agree with everyone else - call your OB and check with him first. The 20 week scan, from what understand, is important.

that stinks! I would be frustrated if I was in that situation. I have been very lucky that my OB office always seems to have evening appointments available.

Re: ARGH stubborn baby!
Same thing happened to me with the NT scan, the baby would not corporate and I had to go back which was a total PIA, but my dr said I really needed it. I feel your pain with the work thing, I have to find someone to cover for me which isn't easy.

Re: ARGH stubborn baby!
I had to go back twice at first 20 week they couldn't get a full spine and heart, because of baby's position I when a week later, got the pics of scan but could not get all pics of hear, because baby would not cooperate again they send me to a specialist in fetal hearts. He was able to see everything
but it was not that bad for me. I work in the city and had to go to lenoxhill hosp, just a cab ride away

Re: ARGH stubborn baby!
can u come in to work early or late???? so that u dont need to use a day or do they not do that at your work?
and if u need to leave say 3 hrs early or come in late...can u come in 1 hr extra for 3 other days or skip your lunch 3 days blah blah blah.
one more option...is your work closed on good friday with the sono office being open? its a few weeks away...but maybe that would work???
