I'm thinking ahead for the cooler weather....
she LOVES chalk right now and still colors, although not with as much enthusiasm as a few months ago.

Re: Arts & Crafts for an almost 2 year old???
OMG - my DD is obsessed with those foam stickies...know which ones i mean? They come in a plastic box and you can get them at the dollar store or Michales in all different shapes like animals, flowers, princess etc. She can play with them for hours.
We also have lots of thick crayons and coloring books and construction paper.
Oh, and we have an easel with paint but I"m not ready to make my finished basement a complete mess just yet!

Hayley like play dough. I put it on a tray and she uses cookie cutters to make shapes. That is the first thing she goes to play with at Nursery School.
She also loves to color.
What about a Doodle Pro? Hayley got one for her birthday and she loves it....

Re: Arts & Crafts for an almost 2 year old???
DD has always loved arts and craft time at daycare and at our home.
We do:
Tempra washable paint. I've got all kinds of paint brushes chunky thin etc. and about 15 different colors.
They also have glitter paint and glitter markers (washable)
Loves the foam stickers Crayons (crayola washables)
Markers (washable of course)
The foat stickies as well as the foam without the sticky back- she uses glue.
Feathers, large buttons, squiggly eyes
Large stamps with different shapes and animals
I get almost all of her stuff from Discount School Supply (it's online)

Re: Arts & Crafts for an almost 2 year old???
Emily loves making homemade greeting cards. Well, with help from me.
I got white cardstock, as well as tons of different colors of cardstock.
I cut the cardstock so that it'll be a bit smaller then the cover of the card.
I give her crayons and let her color all over the card.
THen we go over it with watercolor paints.
Sometimes I'll draw in a flower or a fish or something for her to color in, or scribble over is more like it.
But my family members love getting them in the mail and hanging them on the fridge.
Also we went to one session of an art class with my sister and her daughter and they did sharpie markers first, then craypas, then very diluted watercolors from jars over that. I will try and take a picture of it tomorrow if you remind me.
