As a SAHM, I feel like I am back in the dating game
I am out scoping the streets for other mom friends. I move in and make small talk, but one day, I am going to work up the courage to buy one a cup of coffee at starbucks. While Josh has a full belly of course..I can't whip out my boob on the first date

too funny! one the other moms at a mothers' class at the library said you have to date other moms and see if you connect and we were all laughing at the analogy b/c it was funny but also b/c it was so true!

So funny. When my oldest was a baby, I was living in a new area, 30-60 miles from friends and family, in a big and mostly unfurnished house, with a husband who had to go to Europe at the drop of a hat. When I would complain about meeting people, what I really would say is that I was "picking and choosing among the beauties", my husband would always reply but "your so friendly". I finally explained to him, its like being at a new job, you just have to wait and see who and what your dealing with.

We are in the process of adding onto my parents house, and luckily, the girl who lives next door is the mom of a 5 month old, so when she came to meet the baby the other day, it felt like it was a blind date to see if the two of us got along....luckily, she is so nice and I think we will be great friends

Some girl tried to "pick me up" at the local store this past summer and gave me her number, but I was too embarassed to call her.
I guess I'll have to force myself on the scene in about a month when I'll be staying at home for good.
Oh...I'm too shy of a person for this!

It's so true...when I was walking with my friend once, this other girl was walking withe her baby and we all stopped to talk. We exchanged numbers but never called each other.
I always have mini-conversations when I go out.
When you walk down an isle in the supermarket or at the mall...you always get the nod...like we're in a secret mommies club or something.
