Re: at home wax kits

i hate body hair, shave everything, arms, legs, stomach, pits, crotch. I would love to get professionally waxed but i dont have the extra money for all these body parts.
So i figured i'd ask of everyone's experiences on here. I didnt realize different kits were for different areas of the body

The Sally Hansen Brazillian is great, use it a lot when I can't get to the salon to have it done, and I have used it on my arm hair too in a pinch!:

I also use the Sally Hansen Wax strips on my arms:

The wax strips (with the wax already on the strip) are great for upper lip! You're supposed to rub them in the palm of your hands to warm them up but I find that my hair dryer works best!

How does the brazilian bikini wax kit compare to the strips? I have used the strips in bikini area and while it works, it is not perfect. I am wondering if this kit works better.

I have been waxing my arms for years. Right now I've been using the Sally Hansen Lavender Spa Wax Kit. Works great, and you get a lot of product for the money. Sally Hansen used to have a "honey" wax kit too, but I haven't been seeing it lately.

I'd love to know too! Do you have to apply the wax for the brazilian and then the strip or does the wax come on the strip? I've tried to do it before but felt like I had to be a gymnast to access certain areas. lol

I tried to do my legs years ago and it was an awful experience. I follow the instructions to a T and it only half worked. When I yanked the strip off, only 50% of the hairs came off my leg. Now my skin was all red and irritated and I had to go back over it again! The next go was the same, 50% of my hair came off again. I did the math and realized that I wouldn't have any skin left by the time all the hairs were pulled out.

Does this wax work better than what I experienced, becuase I don't have the time, patience or pain tolerance for that!

i use these too by Nair, they work great!

a little tip, i wipe the waxed area with a Tux pad (witch hazel) after waxing to get rid of any redness, swelling and left over wax.

I have to say, I used to be an avid at home leg waxer, but it was WAYYYY too much work.
The hair on my legs grows in all different directions, it's nearly impossible to reach all areas in the back, it's messy, it takes forever.
I can't even imgaine trying to do a BRAZIALIAN on myself- ummm, how would you even see certain areas to see what you were waxing?

I can see during your arms and facial hair- but legs and bikini- that is just rough to do by yourself.

I think it's much better than the strips for that area! The One I posted, is just a wax that peels off....so you apply it to the area, wait a minute, for it to harden and then peel it off. No strips!

They include a little mirror in the kit! It's really not that bad. Of course you will have a more perfect result in a salon, but I think I get to most areas. My tip is I sit on the floor to do it.

Wow interesting.
I still woudl shy away from doing it on that area- only because I could see myself doing it wrong and ripping half my who-ha off! OUCH! Chat Icon

Re: at home wax kits

I use the sally hansen face wax one that has no strips. It works great. I always found the plastic ones with the wax on them didn't work at all.
