At what age did DC first go to the dentist?
I read in a magazine that children should go to a pediatric dentist at 12 months but my pediatrician said 3 years. Jacob is 13 months and has 6 teeth and its a fight to brush his teeth  Should I be taking him to the dentist??? TIA!

i read confilicting things too and my pediatrician said its fine to wait until they are about 2.

my son has a mouth full of teeth and I brought him in at 22 months..I figured its good to let him get use to it early..he did great..

My sons dentist told me to bring my daughters by during his next visit. He just looked at their teeth & said make an appoitment when they are 3.

We just started brushing their teeth at 16 months. From what I hear from most is around 3 you should start bringing them to a dentist.

My dentist said it's impossible to look in a toddlers mouth
He said around age 3 min. In the meantime he said to get them used to a toothbrush and also to rub their teeth with some hard rolled cotton gauze in a circular motion everyday should get them clean enough.

Thanks for the responses! Its so impossible to brush Jacob's teeth...he wont let me near his mouth! I "brush" his teeth with a toothbrush and then wipe them with a wet gauze pad (rolled up). Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can get near his mouth??? I tried singing to him, I even give him a toy to hold but he still doesnt cooperate I usually end up chasing him all over the house
