At what age did/will you introduce Peanut Butter?
My ped says when they are 5 but that seems a bit late to me.

Our pedi said wait until 2, but I didn't  Andrew had a PB&J sandwich about 20 months old and we watch him for an allergic reaction. Nothing, so we've been giving it to him since.

We started about 2 years old. If you or your DH have peanut allergies, they usually want you to wait.

Thanks for the link. Neither DH nor I have any food allegeries so I was planning on waiting until he was about 2.

I think I'll wait until she is 15 and give it to her in the parking lot of the hospital. Boy do peanut allergies scare me.
Ok, ok, maybe I won't wait that long. But I haven't figured out the when yet. All I know is the pediatrician said not yet, and I figure she'll tell me when at some other visit.

Claire had never showed any allergic reaction to anything. We let her try PB around 14 months and had no problems. Now at 17 months she loves peanuts and cashews (broken to small pieces of course)

I haven't tried them or any nut yet (he is 15 months) - thinking of waiting 'til 2 but haven't discussed with ped at all.

By 12 months. No signs of allergies in either family.
A side note. Those who are waiting to introduce peanuts should also be careful of packaged cookies, treats, and ice cream. Many times items are already cross contaminated and labeled so on packages and then also not labeled.

At 18 months he was having PB &J's, but he had *tried* it sometime before then. He has no allergies, nor do we.
Aside from allergies, there is also a choking factor there with the PB but I spread it so thin and he has a nice big glass of milk with it.

at about 17 months old. We acutally gave him french Fries that were cooked in peanut oil and he had no reaction. Now we give him PB&J with just a little peanut butter and he has shown no signs of an allergy.

Marissa is 20 months and I have given h er peanut butter and jelly a few times since she was like 18 months with no reactions

I was planning to wait until he was 2 per his pediatrician.
Although he is constantly eating munchkins in day care and they are made in peanut oil. So I guess it's silly to wait then....
