at what age did you start giving your DC strawberries?
Is 18 mo too early? She has had banana/strawberry baby food but not fresh strawberries.

I know stage 2 has mixes with strawberries, so I'm pretty sure 18 months is ok...
I waited till DD was 2 years because my mother is deathly allergic to them...

Ella is 17 months and I have been giving her strawberries along with other fruits from early. I think it is quite fine to give your DC strawberries at this age.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I just gave DD strawberries the other day--she is 13 months old. She ate them the first night and then the next night shook her head no. Maybe I'll wait a little ionger.

OK, good...she just had them the other day, we don't have a history of an allergy to it in our fam...

My DD has been having strawberries since about 6 months. I make all my own food and my ped said that everything was good for her to eat. She loves them.

DS was about a year and had no reaction but then around 18mos he fell in love with dried strawberries and ate a ton of them and wound up with an allergic reaction to it after a few weeks. The allergist said there's a histamine in them which I guess can build up so I just wouldnt give them too frequently (DS was having them daily). We just reintroduced them on occasion at 27 mos and so far he's been fine.

I read that cooked strawberries are not the same as fresh. Something cooks away in them making them less allergenic, which is why they may be in baby food.

DD is 14+ mths and i have not given them yet.
