At what age did you start naps?
At what age did you start to put your baby in their crib/basinett for naps?
ETA: sorry, I should have explained better. I mean when did you start putting them down for naps, vs letting them fall asleep on you or in their chair, or swing.

You dont just "start" naps.. babies sleep all the time when they are newborns. You can put them in a basinett up untill the weight limit OR in a crib at any time. As they get older they are awake more and take 2-3 naps a day.. Hope that helps.

Re: At what age did you start naps?
By 4 weeks DS was out of the sleep all the time phase and pretty much was awake all day long for a week or so. Then around 6 weeks things evened out and by 10 weeks we had a nap schedule.
To develop this I pretty much just kept track of his eating and sleepign habits from day one and when I noticed some trends I just used those to develop a schedule.
He used to take his AM nap in his swing and his afternoon nap in his crib

Re: At what age did you start naps?
We started around 3 months because at that point, ds couldn't just fall asleep on his own or anywhere. He needed to be bounced, rocked or otherwise (as he got older, the time it took to get him to fall asleep kept increasing).
At 5 months, we began CIO for naps.

To answer this question we have always rocked DS to sleep for his nap. The reason is basically because he is with ILs 3 days a week and I know they enjoy rocking him so I figured it was just easier. DS takes 2 naps a day and generally falls asleep pretty easily so its not a big deal.
Honestly you have to just learn from your DC's cues, DS used to be rocked at night then at 6 months he was fighting me so bad I put him down awake and he fell asleep on his own. Every kid is different and you have to figure out what works best not only for your child but for you and your situation as well!
