At What Age Did Your DC Use Utensils to Feed Him/Herself?
I can't remember that far back, just curious what the average age is. Emma still eats with her hands and tries to use the utensils, but hasn't quite mastered it!

DD started at about 11-12 months and now, at 16 months, she is actually really good with them - I was actually really surprised yesterday when she ate a whole bowl of pasta with her little fork

My older son mastered it early on, and was well off with utensils by age 2. My DD will be 2 in a few weeks, and she is still using her fingers to put it on the fork, then into her mouth. So she hasn't got the hang of it yet.

I think my DD was a little over 1 when she was really able to do it without too much help.

Summer- lisa( Halis) turne dme on to these spoons and I got them at BRU and Noah uses them every now and again and can dip them in the food and get it in his mouth. I like them.

DD is 19 months and has not mastered this skill  If I put the food on the spoon or fork, she will put it into her mouth...but she can't seem to understand how to get it onto the spoon/fork herself.

I introduced these to her around 14 months. At 21 months, she's a pro! With a fork too! She can even get the rice on the spoon- I'm so impressed!

My son started with a spoon early. At ten months he was eating baby food on his own with a spoon when I let him. He was fine with it by a year (used both fingers and spoon but knew how to use a spoon well). Around a year or so, I introduced a fork and he took to it quickly. I know by 15-16 mos he was definitley using both well. However - at 3, he still likes to eat with his fingers. We have to constantly remind him to use his fork and spoon.

10 mos he started to try and he is pretty good at it at 11 mos.

Matthew uses a fork and spoon, it takes him longer, but he has it down pretty well. He did this around 17-18 months.

My son started at about a year old, when he went to daycare he saw the other kids doing it and started. He ate with a spoon the very first day he came home from daycare.
