at what age was your dc when you went on his/her 1st vacation...
and where did you go?
my dh and i are planning a trip for our 2nd anniv. in september, since i was on bedrest for our 1st anniv.
i'm apprehensive about going to a different country (ds will be just shy of one yr. old)
i'm also apprehensive about taking him on a long road trip (we live in chicago) and we were considering a cape cod vacation.
thanks for all your help and recommendations!

They'll be just shy of 6 months - we're going to Arizona and I'm totally freaking out about it! How about a short flight somewhere? The good thing about a road trip though is you can load as much as you want into your own car and not have to rent one. Good luck!

My little guy was 7 weeks old when we took a 5 day road trip to Newport, RI. It was great! He had no idea what was going on.

a lil mini vacation we are taking in PA- we are in a wedding party so we are making a lil vacation out of it, she will be 5 months old and we are planning a vacation to either Aruba or Bahamas later this year and taking her. we are trying to see if she would tolerate a flight to aruba, bahamas piece of cake but we'd like to go back to aruba.

#1 was 10 weeks old when we took him to Florida for a week
#2 was 12 weeks old when we took him to the Jersey Shore for a week.

@ 3 weeks old, we drove to Lake Placid for the weekend (6 hour drive)
@ 3 months, we flew to San Francisco
@ 4 months, we drove to Outer Banks (10-11 hour drive)
@ 4.5 months, we drove to Philly
Its time for another vacation! I have no issue taking Ella out of the country, but I need to get her a passport. Its at the top of my "to do " list.

6 months. we didn't want to have to deal with flying with him so we went on a cruise that left out of bayonne, nj.

6 weeks we went to DC for a long weekend to visit friends. At 7 months we went to Dominican republic, 1 year Turks and Caicos and 18 months Mexico.

both my kids were 3 months old. We go every August to a family resort in CT, so its only 3 hours drive away. We stay for a week. I have taken my DS on a place at 7 months and 10 months and he was also very good.

First big vacation: when DD was 11 months we drove down to North Carolina.
Before that, when she was 7 months we went to the Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos--only 90 minutes away and we only stayed 1 night.

Jack was 2 months when we drove from Ohio to LI for Christmas, then at 6 months we went to Florida and a few more since then.
Molly will be 5 months when we go to Florida next week!
