Atkins or any low carb success stories ?
Sorry for the flurry of questions !
Can I hear some?
I gained some weight this past year due to stress and need it off ASAP. I launched Atkins and am doing really well and would like to hear some success stories to keep me going. I see some online, but I like to hear LIF stories because then I'm more apt to believe them
Many thanks !

Re: Atkins or any low carb success stories ?
I just started low carb myself and I have to say that I do not think I look as bloated.
I haven't replaced my scale since it floated away in Hurricane Sandy though. So I don't know how much weight, if any, I've actually lost.
I did Atkins many years back and was successful with that, but felt it was just way too rigid for me to continue at this point in my life.
I mostly eat lots of proteins and veggies.
I also eat yogurt, cheese, stuff like that and will have carbs on occasion, but in moderation. I avoid the big ones as much as I can (bread, rice, pasta, potatoes).

Atkins or any low carb success stories ?
Thank you for your response ! Do you recall how successful you were when you did it?
I'm doing it until I hit my goal weight. Then I plan on experimenting with carb amounts to reach a point where I can consume them and maintain my goal weight. I'm just so ******* fed up at how much I have gained this past year so I don't care how hard it is - I will do whatever it takes for however long it takes. I'm just in that zone of working hard to meet my goal. But that being said. I know it's not a lifetime diet. It's just temporary. That's what keeps me going.

Re: Atkins or any low carb success stories ?
I had other people I lived with at the time doing it, so I was much more successful. I probably dropped a good 15-20 lbs.
With going low carb now vs. totally Atkins, I also think it's more manageable for the long-term.
If you think about it, we probably shouldn't be eating all those heavy kinds of carbs anyway, since they are so not healthy.
One of the trainers I spoke to at my gym said his wife did this, and when she realized how much she was dropping, as well as how much better she felt in general, decided to give up the heavy carbs completely.

I agree about heavy carb foods
It is crazy how fast you drop weight. I guess because I have a food amount to lose, it comes off fast in the beginning.

Re: Atkins or any low carb success stories ?
It's the only thing that has ever really worked for me. I'm recently back to counting carbs, and trying to stay under 40 a day. Now that I'm over 45, I'm curious to see how this goes. In the past, I've never really counted calories just carbs, and its worked well, but at my age now I'm taking a wait and see attitude.

Re: Atkins or any low carb success stories ?
Atkins has always worked for me..I realized after the 2 week induction that I dont need all the sugar and carbs. I found myself eating healthier after and only occasionally having some carbs. I had a baby 3 months ago and I am going to start my induction again starting probably tomorrow. I usually wait for a monday but I dont want to wait anymore I just want this weight I put on gone!! I am going to buy some atkins bars and shakes to help me get started.
