Atlantic city with kids
hey all- Going to AC and Cape may next week. We are taking kids. DH and i have not been away alone in years.. no one to watch our kids overnight. So we are taking them to AC for one night then to Cape May.. I hear from a lot of people that there is a lot to do there for the kids now. We dont gamble much so we will just take turns in the casino. My question is this. What restaurants do u recommend with the kids? We are staying at the Taj. I hear Johnny Rockets is good and Hard Rock Cafe. I thought the Rainforest would be cute. DH and i ate at one in Nassau county years ago and the food was awful. So i wasnt sure about that one. Anyone who has taken kids please give me some tips or FM me! TIA

Re: Atlantic city with kids
We did not bring our children but we just got back yesterday.
The hotels/casinos themselves are really adult destinations. Bars, gambling, shows, restaurants. You'll want to get out and spend most of your time on the boardwalk.
You will be right by the rides which is great. There is also a big go cart track and Ripley's Believe it or Not museum.
You might also check out the Pier at Caesars, esp. if the weather is lousy. It's mainly upscale shops but there are some kid friendly stores and some kind of fountain show (like the Bellagio in Vegas) every hour.
Have fun!

Re: Atlantic city with kids
I think its definitely doable. There are large piers with rides and the beach of course!! There is plenty to do- there is also an aquarium not too far. DH and I are planning on going down for a night with DD. She's easily occupied and we have an aunt and uncle of mine that offered to come to keep her occupied if we wanted to gamble. Honestly, we arent big gamblers either so that doesnt matter to me that much.. id rather see DD have a good time!!

Storybook Land is pretty close to the Boardwalk - maybe 15 minutes away. It might be worth checking out.

The Taj has a kid's arcade inside, it faces the boardwalk.

Re: Atlantic city with kids
I enjoy taking the kids to the rainforest cafe.
We went last summer and I thought the aquarium wasn't very good. It didn't take us long to go through it.
