what is the best biography and/or autobiography you have ever read and why?

It's really long but, The Power Broker is an autobiography of Robert Moses. He did so much to create a modern NY/LI and had more power than most politicians.

maybe not the best one ever but best one i've read recently (although def the most disturbing) is mackenize philips.

reading I am Ozzy right now and not loving it so much...

I read The Auotobiography of Henry VIII. It was interesting to see the attitudes and beliefs of the period and also to see the relationship between Henry and his father, and nasty grandmother.

It's a loooooong book, but a fascinating one.

I really loved the autobiography of Agatha Christie. I think I can say it was my favorite autobiography I ever read so far. It was very well written (helped that the woman is the 3rd most published author in the world) and gave a really wonderful feel for the time period of her youth and later years. The characters she describes, her mother, father, neighbors, servants in her childhood home are full of life and are all fascinating, at least the way SHe describes them. It actually was amazing how many great details she remembered from her early days. I also really love the way she thinks and the conclusions she comes up with!
