Avent bottles
Does anyone have an opinion on these bottles. I bought these in preperation for the baby. I wasn't sure between these and the Platex.
TIA Lisa

Re: Avent bottles
My sister used them exclusively with her second baby, and loved them. She said she would never go back to {whatever she used with her 1st}. She actually started with them as a fluke -- they were given to her as a gift.

Re: Avent bottles
I use them and other than the leaking problem (which is now solved - see earlier post) they are good.

Re: Avent bottles
My son was very gassy and I hated how I could hear the bubbles and air when he drank from them. I switched to Dr Browns and loved them (except cleaning them) Also my experience with the Avents is that they leak.

Re: Avent bottles
I used avent with my son. I liked them but never bought others. I actually bought them because I liked how they looked. YES they did leak but now i know what to do with my second. I plan ato use them again - no sense in buying all new bottles. I will just used new nipples.

Re: Avent bottles
I registered for these and the Playtex Ventaire. I have no problem with the Avent...only the occasional leaking that others have described, and Katherine HATES the ventaire--will not drink from them.
My niece, on the other hand, who is 3 days older than Katherine HATES the Avent and loves the Ventaire. Both babies were breastfed as well, so I guess sometimes it's just a matter of the baby's preference. Having said all that, I would register for at least two brands in case one doesn't work out.
Good luck!

Re: Avent bottles
I have used Avent and love them. I had a problem with the leaking once and then learned that you are not supposed to tighten the nipple on too tight, and never had a problem again.

Re: Avent bottles
I started with the Playtex with the disposable liners. I thought those were great because they warm up in seconds in a mug of warm water. Then when my daughter was a little older, we switched to Avent. I plan on doing the same thing with this baby.
