Its more a less a box that you can stream either Amazon on Demand or Netflix movies through, so you can watch them TV instead of just your computer or such. It also has other channels on it, like Hulu, MLB TV, Pandora, etc.

neither do we, we use amazon on demand, which you dont need a subscription for, we just pay per rental as needed. You can also purchase movies to have from Amazon, so they are yours and you can keep them on the Roku.

so you can get baseball games on this? i live in PA and DH can only get mets games if they play the phillies. and i tried the whole MLB package from Direct TV to find there are still blackout restrictions.
if thats the case, i may buy this for us..

Silly question - why is this better than using Movies on Demand? Or using the Wii to access Netflix movies? Or is it that all Netflix movies are available with the Roku instead of just the instant movies that you're limited to with the Wii/Xbox, etc?

more or less the same thing
there are currently over 20 ways to get movies and tv shows to your computer.
roku is just another player, like the wii/ps3/xbox/your tv/blu-ray players with internet, etc...

ww just bought a sony blue ray and it seems it has all these features in it. is there anything else it can do? does it stream your shows from your DVR back to your computer?

more or less the same thing

excactly....I also dont know what other channels are available via Wii or the new DVD players, so they can be a factor.

This is true. If you have or plan on getting a blu-ray player you don't need a Roku.

you can get mlb.tv, what mlb.tv lets you watch, I have no idea.
thanks..i did read up on it a bit after you posted. I would have to pay for MLB.TV which is fine b/c i think its cheaper than the direct tv package. But still blackout restrictions ..im going to look into this though..it might work for NY area games since we arent in the NY market.
