B-Day Movie Party help ETA
My DS will be 7 in June. For his party he want to see Toy Story 3. I have no problem with this. He wants to invite his class which is fine. Is there a nice, non-tacky way to state that it is only for the kids in his class and a parent? I really don't feel like paying for siblings. I would never expect a parent to just drop off thier child with me especailly if they don't know me but I don't want this to turn into a family affair.
The movie theater will be roping off the seats for us depending on how many I RSVP for. The rest of the theater will be full of regualr customers. The parents I guess could pay for their other kids/adults but they take the chance of it being sold out, especially being it will be a matinee where the theater only charges $5 for admission. I will be paying $7.50 person which also includeds a popcorn an d drink. Then I'll have to do lunch and a cake too since it will be lunchtime.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Or does anyone know of a theater that will close just for the party? The bigger problem being that it will be opening weekend for Toy Story 3.
TIA
ETA: I expect to pay for the parent, that is not a problem. I just don't want to pay for the whole family. The chance they will be taking by bringing an sibling(s) is that they could pay for them but being Opening weekend theyre is a big chance the show willbe sold out very quickly,

Re: B-Day Movie Party help
We just received an invitation that said something along the lines of "Because of space limitations, parents are asked to drop off & enjoy 2 hours of free time"
I'm paraphrasing but I thought it was well phrased.
Also just as an FYI - Elwood Movie Theater parents were free

Re: B-Day Movie Party help
We just went to one in Merrick that was private. They even put the birthday boys name on the marque outside. It was a very early party - 9:30am but it was fun!

Re: B-Day Movie Party help
I just have to add that I would NEVER bring one of my kids to a party that the other was invited too. If I felt the need to stay, I would expect to sit in the back and pay for me and my other child.
