B-day party idea for a 95 yr old woman
My DH' grandmother is turning 95 in March. She has told us that she does not want a party b/c she has no where to put any new gifts...(lol she cracks me up). We really want to celebrate, and I thought if maybe we asked all of the guests to submit a pic and a story that we could put into one album this eliminates the possibility of her getting a thousand gifts from everyone.
So my question is, is this do-able & how could we word it on the invite so that people are clear that the pic & story ARE the gift?
TIA

Re: B-day party idea for a 95 yr old woman
First of all GOD BLESS HER !!! and Happy Happy Birthday to her !
and that's an AMAZING IDEA !!!!!!!! the photo as a gift.
Is it possible to have everyone make a scrapbook page, even if its not creative or "professiional" this way you know they will all be the same size and fit into the right album, kwim?
Can you make up a poem to get all this info in ?
I made up a little poem for a few invites, corny, and they rhyme, but it got the point across.
Again, that's an AMAZING IDEA, I may use that idea for a party myself !
let me know if you need help with wording... even my hubby has gotten into silly rhymes with his poker buddies.. (long story

Re: B-day party idea for a 95 yr old woman
We just had a suprise 80th birthday for my grandmother and this is what we put on the invitation:
"no gifts please, your presence is present enough"
and it worked out well, not too many gifts....
